ART & MUSIC SUMMER CLASSES FOR SPECIAL NEEDS

Ages: 5 – 10 years

Dates: Saturdays, July 3 – 31
Time: 11am – 12:15pm


This specialized therapy program combines the visual arts with the performing arts! Art, music and play are all instinctive traits that allow children of all ages and abilities to express themselves and aid in their learning skills. Certified Art and Music Therapists will encourage children with development disabilities to build their communication, motor and social skills, while connecting with others.

Session 1 & 2: Focus on visual arts including drawing, painting and clay. Participants will learn about self-symbols and metaphors.

Session 3 & 4: Focus on alternative ways to self-express using music. Children will sing, explore different instruments, and move to the music!

Session 5: Children will have a chance to combine their skills using both mediums on the last day!

Art Groups for Unique Artists


1: Youth Group (ages 12 - 20)
Fridays, Aug. 6th & 13th.
1 - 3pm.

2: Children’s Group (ages 4 - 12)
Saturdays, Aug. 7th & 14th.
10am - 12:30pm. 

Facilitated by a Certified Art Therapist (Art 4 Life Therapy),
This art group is designed to maximize growth and healing.

Participants are given directives according to their developmental and cognitive capabilities.

Benefits of creating art and Art Therapy include: social skill development / improved communication with others, increased motor skills and increased awareness of feelings.

All abilities welcome.
